If you live in Milperra and you're looking for a gym, you've probably noticed that the options inside the suburb itself are thin.
There's a reason for that. Independent strength and conditioning gyms tend to cluster around bigger commercial hubs. The volume isn't there to sustain multiple sites in a small residential suburb.
Here's what happened with us, and why most Milperra residents looking for serious coaching now train six minutes down the road.
A Quick History
We opened 365 Performance in 2008. By the mid-2010s we had two sites, one in Chipping Norton and one in Milperra. Same brand, same programming, same coaching philosophy.
We made a call to consolidate. Instead of splitting attention, equipment, and coaching depth across two sites, we brought everything into one. The Chipping Norton facility became the flagship. Bigger floor, better gear, more coaches, more sessions per day.
The Milperra members who valued the depth came with us. The drive is six minutes via Henry Lawson Drive or the M5. Free parking on site. Multiple group sessions daily. The same coaching they signed up for, just in a better facility.
Why The Move Made The Coaching Better
Two sites meant two sets of compromise. Half the equipment at each. Coaches split across both. Programming had to work in both spaces.
One site meant everything in one place. Proper barbells, racks, platforms, kettlebells, ski ergs, rowers, the full kit. Coaches all under one roof, all delivering the same programme. Members from Milperra, Liverpool, Moorebank, and Chipping Norton training in the same space.
That's the part that gets understated. Bigger member base, mixed across suburbs, means a stronger community than either site could've built alone. New people walk in and meet someone they recognise from somewhere else in their week.
What The Drive Actually Looks Like
Henry Lawson Drive is the obvious route. Six minutes door to door for most Milperra postcodes. The M5 works for the back end of the suburb.
If you train at 5:30am or 6:30am, you're driving against traffic both ways. Even at 5pm you're avoiding the worst of the M5 by cutting through the back roads.
Free parking on site. No street meter, no time limit.
What's Inside The Facility
Capped group coaching sessions. Multiple sessions daily through the week, Saturday morning, and open gym around it.
Personal training one-on-one with a qualified coach. Hybrid coaching for people who travel or need everything programmed across training, nutrition, and accountability.
The equipment is what you'd expect from a proper strength and conditioning facility. Real barbells, calibrated plates, racks, platforms, kettlebells, dumbbells, a rower, a ski erg, sandbags, wall balls, weighted vests. The kit you need to train properly is there.
Who Trains Here From Milperra
Plenty of the members who originally trained at our Milperra site are still here. New Milperra members find us through Google or through word of mouth from someone already training with us.
What they all say is the same. They wanted real coaching, not a swipe-in chain gym. They wanted programming, not random workouts. They wanted a community that knew their name.
That's what we built when we consolidated. The drive is the trade-off, and it's a small one. More on our Milperra page.
